River Finds

Find a calm spot for your little collection. It could be on a table, on a blanket under a tree, or in a quiet corner indoors. Anywhere where the children can sit comfortably and take their time. Lay down a piece of fabric, a cloth, or a small blanket. Arrange the river finds on top, along with the printed photographs (cut the pages in half), and the Viewfinder. Add the playdough and inkpads for the Texture Hunt. If you have a small standing mirror, place it among the finds. Children can use it to look at the objects from underneath or from a different angle. It is a simple way to make familiar things look completely different. You can leave everything out for a while and let the children come back to it, move things around, and explore at their own pace.
