A sensory play tray is a hands-on activity space filled with different textures, objects, and little treasures to explore. Children scoop, pour, sort, bury, discover, pretend, and invent stories as they play. It’s not exactly a “craft” with a finished result—it’s more like building a tiny world together.
The best part? You can either:
- surprise your child by setting it up for them, or
- invite them to help create the tray from the beginning.
(Some children love arranging every pebble with deep artistic focus. Others immediately launch a wooden fox into the lentils. Both are valid.)
